NIGHT OF THE MUSEUMS

The Weltkulturen Museum cordially invites you to the Night of the Museums!

We offer an extensive program in two buildings:

Schaumainkai 37:

At 8 p.m. we will open the spin-off exhibition "Shipibo Pot Stories. Patterns of the Universe"! Artist René Appel will be present and curator Laura Heidemann will give a brief tour of the exhibition at 9:30 and 10:30 pm.

In the exhibition, a ceremonial beer pot from the Amazon region of Peru tells about the myths and patterns of the Shipibo. In a collaboration between multimedia artist René Appel and contemporary Shipibo artist Harry Pinedo, the pot is brought to life with the help of digital animation. By means of other exhibited objects and their distinctive patterns, the connection to the spiritual Shipibo cosmos is demonstrated. The spin-off exhibition is conceptualized as an extension of the exhibition "healing. Life in Balance".

In the building, visitors will also be provided with a relaxation room.

Schaumainkai 29:

Our current exhibition "healing. Life in Balance" shows a multi-voiced exploration of healing, transformation and balance . Six guided tours of the exhibition will be offered during the Night of Museums:

7 and 8 pm by Iris Loew / 9 and 10 pm by Berit Mohr / 11 pm and 12 am by Talida Hölting.

In the small cinema room of the exhibition, the film "The Space in Between - Marina Abramović and Brazil" will be shown in continuous loop.

In addition, catering will be provided by Jambo African Food.
