    Δ CURATOR'S GUIDED TOUR

    „An Ode to Women“
With Vanessa von Gliszczynski (curator South East Asia)

With “Mahina. An Ode to Women”, Vanessa von Gliszczynski, curator South East Asia at the Weltkulturen Museum, presents a photo project by the artist collective Teru. In her guided tour through the current exhibition “Worlds in Motion”, she discusses the question how especially women in the diaspora deal with cultural elements from their culture of origin. Creative handling and the reinterpretation of cultural elements combine the Mahina project with the exhibition room “music with a migration history”: “How do musical instruments change when they come into contact with other cultures. Are there 'authentic' instruments or is everything part of a constant flow?”

    7 € / 3,50 €
Costs of the tour included in admission fee.

Narrating Migration”, we take a look at other ways of navigating. Afterwards, we make our own personal map with our main orientation points. Workshop with exhibition tour for children aged six and above.

We are in movement. We take our languages, cultures and lifestyles with us. At the ready or tucked away in our backpacks. What do we take with us, what do we keep, what do we exchange – and above all how?

Inspired by the “WORLDS IN MOTION. Narrating Migration” exhibition and in cooperation with the Weltkulturen Education, Junges Schauspiel is working with a young ensemble of performers to explore the phenomenon of cultural exchange.

Between self-positioning and ascription, the young people negotiate cultural identities, trace the routes of exhibits, and investigate the driving force of the motor of migration.

Concept and direction: Martina Droste and Anna Stoß (Junges Schauspiel)
    Dramaturgy: Stephanie Endter (Weltkulturen Education)
