Δ WEBINAR #1: APPROACHES TO PROVENANCE

AAMC & AAMC Foundation Provenance Webinar Series with Vanessa von Gliszczynski, curator Southeast Asia

What are the steps of research for a given work of art? How might experts approach an object at hand? This session will breathe life into provenance research by featuring speakers specifically describing how they traced ownership of a specific object. Skills covered will include visual literacy, travel, language/translation, use of database/archives, tracing sales, consultation and involvement of native communities, working in non-traditional resources/documentation, and the importance of transparency, especially in difficult situations. It will also include a conversation as to the goal of research: is it to claim ownership or to tell the story of the object, with supportive conversations to the latter.

The Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) is hosting a webinar series on provenance research on June 10, 17 and 24, 2020. Vanessa von Gliszczynski, curator Southeast Asia, will speak at the panel discussion on 10th June 2020.

    Δ ***FULLY BOOKED*** 1:1 CONCERTS

One musican playing for one listener - a very unusual experience: a member of the Frankfurt Opern- und Museumsorchester communicating with someone for 10 minutes without saying a word.

    In cooperation with Oper Frankfurt

Who the musician will be and what they will be playing is a surprise. All the information you have is where and at what time on which day you will meet, 2 metres apart.

The concerts at the Weltkulturen Museum will take place in the exhibition „WORLDS IN MOTION. Narrating Migration“. You can visit the exhibition after the concert.

These special events were inspired by Stephanie Winker, Franziska Ritter, Christian Siegmund & Sophie von Mansberg's 1:1 concert format which they developed for the »Sommerkonzerte Volkenroda« chamber music festival.

    Free. Registration required:
