Moderator: Jakob Hoffmann, founder of the Yippie Children's Comic Festival
Whitney Bursch is a Black comic artist and art therapist from Hamburg. Her mostly autobiographical comics are self-published and appear in anthologies by Strapazin, Colorama Clubhouse and, most recently, in ‘the future is...’ by Carlsen Verlag. She will read from her exciting comic repertoire.
The lecture will be in German language.

Performance project, Junges Schauspiel FrankfurtA polyphonic performance by teenagers and young adults in the exhibition “SHEROES. Comic Art from Africa” at the Weltkulturen Museum. The SHEROES inspire the ensemble in the exhibition to take their own close-ups of current upheavals: What do we take with us into a better future? What is left behind? What if we realize that reality really can be changed?

The exhibition “SHEROES. Comic Art from Africa” addresses contemporary issues and envisions new futures. We offer guided tours in four different languages and Polaroids with the superheroes of the exhibition! In an open workshop, buttons will be made, and there will be live sessions by the interdisciplinary artist MoAn.
