Film project THE COMMON THREAD - Six Colourful Threads

A group of young people take their own clothes as a starting point for research into garment manufacturing and production conditions. We visit fashion labels, the dyeing facilities of the state theatres and explore alternatives to commercial ‘high speed fashion’ – and record it all with the camera. This video work by young people is part of THE COMMON THREAD exhibition shown in the Weltkulturen Museum from mid-November 2016 until late August 2017.

With guidance from experienced video artist Ani Schulze, the young people become the actors in front of and/or behind the camera, and gain an insight into the art of film editing.
