PROVENANCE RESEARCH ON THE BENIN COLLECTION

In 2022, a research project funded by the German Lost Art Foundation was carried out at the Weltkulturen Museum. It dealt with the provenance and different acquisition circumstances of the objects from the Kingdom of Benin (Nigeria) that are in the collection of the Weltkulturen Museum. The project results are the starting point for our upcoming exhibition "Benin. The Collection at the Weltkulturen Museum. Retrospective/Perspectives".
